On Sunday, December 22 in NYC, I will offer a new class “Roasting for baristas.” But you don’t have to be a barista to attend, this class is for anyone interested in roasting. :)

Class will feature a cupping that includes samples with roast defects or green defects, and some straight-up delicious coffees as well.

Class will include many topics, including:

  • Classes of roasting machines

  • The pros and cons of drum- and air- roatsers

  • How to roast consistently

  • QC tools for roasting

  • How do baked, underdeveloped, and roasts with too much conduction taste?

  • What are the important factors to consider when purchasing a roasting machine

  • How to cup coffee

  • How to roast for filter vs straight espresso vs milk drinks

  • What are the primary green processing methods?
